Our very own Belinda Lay, President of the CWA Esperance Bay & Districts Branch and member of the State Management Committee has won this prestigious award for her innovative ‘fit bit’ style sheep collar project, which is set to GPS track livestock in real-time and monitor their heart rates and temperatures.
The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award is Australia’s leading award acknowledging and supporting the essential role women play in rural industries, businesses and communities. The award provides a platform to inspire and support Australian women to use and develop their skills to benefit their industries and communities.
Belinda has received a $10,000 bursary providing the financial resources to bring her project to fruition and a full scholarship to an intensive one-week Curtin Business School Executive Education’s Ignition Program for entrepreneurial training.
