Awards – Community Project Grant

Established at State Conference 2007, branches may apply for funding to assist with a community project in their district or for small renovations or projects for their CWA Centre.

The recipient for 2019 – 2020 is:

  • Balingup Branch:  (Certificate + $8,000):  The Balingup Branch formed in 1932 and they requested that their CWA Centre be refurbished so that it could continue to serve their community.  Their branch is used by many community groups for their meetings and supports families, bush fire emergencies and school interactions.  The Balingup Branch were instrumental building and supporting the Over 55’s Vintage Units located next door to their CWA Centre.  The residents use the CWA Centre as a place for meetings and social activities.  The Vintage Units are considered to be ‘homes for life’ and the CWA Centre has become an integral part of their lives.

 

In any one year, up to $10,000 is allocated from the State Projects Fund, which enables CWA branches to apply for a grant to carry out or assist with a project in their community.
No more than two grants are given each year.
