Albany CWA Branch - Retro Morning Tea.  Remember things on sticks and pigs in blankets?  Come to our rock'n'roll morning tea, put on your blue suede shoes and let's have a party with food from the 50's and 60's.  Time:  10 am to 12 noon.  Where:  CWA Hall, 94 Serpentine Road, Albany.  Tickets are $10 per person.  Tickets available at the door or telephone 0412 937 641 for tickets or further information.

Perth:  Happy Birthday Today! 100th Birthday of the Association!

Sunday, 7 July 2024 marks the 100th Birthday of the CWA of WA.  Here is a list of cost-free birthday activities you may wish to attend throughout the day.  Numbers are limited at some events so register early!


10.00 am to 10.45 am:  CWA Times and Traditions:  Celebrate the lifting of the quarter-century time capsule at the CWA birthplace in Nungarin.  Location:  Alice Williams Memorial Hall, Railway Avenue, Nungarin;  RSVP:  Nungarin Branch - Kathy Savage on 0417 965 923  Note:  Enjoy a full morning of activity by wandering through the Nungarin Wheatbelt Markets also located on Railway Avenue, between 8.00 am to 12 noon.


2.30 pm to 3.30 pm:  CWA Plaques and Pageantry:  Celebrate CWA's continuous presence in the City of Perth since 1924 and Hay Street since 1946, with the unveiling of a commemorative bronze pavement plaque.  Location:  CWA State Office, 1176 Hay Street, West Perth;  RSVP: [email protected] or 08 9321 6041  Note:  Limited to 60 guests (space availablity).  Early registration is essential.  A 48-seater coach will be available to take members to the Bell Tower at 3.40 pm.


4.00 pm to 6.00 pm:  CWA Bells and Bubbles:  Celebrate CWA's 100th birthday with a commemorative ringing of the bells and toasting the special day with canapes and champagne.  Location: Perth Bell Tower (Indoors), Barrack Square, Riverside Drive, Perth   RSVP: [email protected] or 08 9321 6041  Note:  Limited to 90 guests (space availablity).  Early registration is essential.  A 48-seater coach will be available to take members from the Bell Tower at 5.30 pm to take a short tour around the central business district to see some of the blue lights and return to CWA House at approximately 6.15 pm.


6.00 pm to 11.00 pm:  CWA Lights and Legacy:  Celebrate the significance of CWA in the community with self-drive viewing of prominent landmarks lit in blue.  Locations:  Bell Tower, Council House, Elizabeth Quay, Matagurup Bridge, RAC Arena, Yagan Square and many more metropolitan and regional landmarks. Dwellingup and Rockingham CWA Branches: CWA Centenary StreamTrain Picnic on the Hotham Valley Railway in DwellingupJourney through the beautiful Dwellingup forest aboard a charming historic steam train and finish with a delicious lunch at the CWA Dwellingup Rooms.
