CWA / CTA Henderson Field Scholarship (for WA Rural Nurses)

The Country Women’s Association of WA (CWA) together with the Commercial Travellers’ Association of WA (CTA) have established the CWA / CTA Henderson Field Scholarship which is designed to encourage further nursing skills training, particularly involving the care of children, for the benefit of rural, regional and remote communities.

Funds were gifted by the Commercial Travellers’ Association of WA and provided to the Country Women’s Association of WA who will manage the funds and selection process.   Each year, a total of $5,000 will be given in scholarships to deserving applicants.

2018 Rural Nurses Scholarship recipient Sandra Guzzi says “Receiving the CWA/CTA scholarship in 2018 has enabled me to complete a Graduate Certificate in Suicide Prevention and Self Harm Minimisation at the University of Melbourne. I encourage nurses working in regional WA to apply as the application process was not complicated. I am grateful to have received this gift of education and the funds paid for 50% of my course. This course is invaluable to me in my work with troubled youths and I hope you will follow your passion and take the leap to further your education”.

The closing date for applications is 31 October each year.
